My last day in my twenties!! (and a scrappy RAK)

That's right! I turn the big 3-0 tomorrow :) I'm totally excited. It's no secret that I love my birthday! I'm not sad about it at all. After all, I've been married almost 7 years and have 3 kids...I feel AT LEAST 30, haha! Kevin and I are taking off for the day tomorrow and going to see Bon Jovi in concert. It's outside and I really hope it doesn't rain! It's been raining here for over a week! Blech! I'm excited about it either way :) Thanks to Mom and Dad for the tickets and for babysitting!!!!

Ok, I'm going to try to type quickly while the boys are out on an exploration with Grampie (complete with binoculars, science journals, and a picnic) and Bridget is napping. What's that sound...oh right, silence....it's so unfamiliar!

Wow, can you believe it, I don't think I have anything to type. Ha! That doesn't happen often...

A quick cute Riley thing...he called his Freezie a Freezbie last night..heehee.

Kieran is getting more mischievous lately. I think the true terrifying threes are coming. Look out, I could be in trouble!

Bridget has been feverish the past couple of days, but I think she's feeling better today.

Ok, on to scrappy news. The cyber crop at Treasured was so much fun. I only got my challenge done and one other, but there is so much eye candy in the gallery that I'll have inspiration for weeks to come! My challenge was a Summer Blockbuster challenge...to use a movie title or tagline as the titlle of your LO. Here it is...I used the tagline from Star Trek :)

This was the first wedding layout I've ever done.

I also did Aymee's Lazy Days challenge. To scrapbook things you love to do in the summer :) I love to just hang out and go to all the summer events...First of July, Kids fairs, etc. I always have to drag Kevin, but we always have fun in the end!

This was done using the my DT kit from TS! Love, love the bright colours!

I hosted the first scrapjack over at Let's Capture Our Memories (which, thanks to Kevin, we are all calling L-Com for short...sounds like a secret agency to me. Just call my Sydney :)). The reveal was last week. Sadly, my own layout isn't even finished, but the rest of the girls did an AMAZING job!! Check it out!

I also found out that I'm going to be a part of the L-Com sketch DT. Some of the girls are the same ones from the old Paws team and some are new, which we are totally excited about. We get started with our sketches and challenges July 1st! You can check out the blog here.

So, lots of scrappy goodness going on! I also got my DT kit from Scrap That! yesterday and I'm so excited to get working with it! The colours are so bright and summery! Also, stay tuned for Scrap That's blog hop in July!!

Ok, so, in honour of my 30th I'm offering up a RAK for all my scrappy friends! Just leave a comment on this post and I'll put your name in a draw for a birthday RAK from me!! Gotta love a birthday!! It's as fun to give gifts as to receive them!

Have a great weekend all and cross your fingers for no rain!!

My new fave show, kid updates, scrappy stuff

Well, I might as well blog while I'm watching So You Think You Can Dance! Can I just say, that I totally love this show! I got hooked last year when I would be up in the middle of the night nursing Bridget. They would rerun the show at least a couple of times through the night so I would end up catching most of all of the episodes. I love the dances and I love the judges...they are so nice. Even when they are critical, they aren't mean, which is refreshing compared with most other reality shows. I also love the hostes...I have no idea what her name is, lol, but she's cute. Ok, there ya go...go tune in and you'll be hooked!

And speaking of my darling daughter, she is just the cutest baby ever. No offence to all you other mothers out there, but she really is :) However, this isn't the greatest thing when I'm trying to put her to bed. Tonight she just kept looking up at me and smiling. Then she would lay her head down and put it up for a kiss, repeatedly. Then she started blowing raspberries on my belly and laughing her head off (sigh, that laugh is too infectious so soon we were both laughing our heads off). Although, when I'd finally had enough she wasn't too happy when I put her in her bed and left. I did end up going back and rocking her to sleep after she fussed awhile...nothing better than snuggling a sleeping baby!

And, I can tell you about this because there is no way I'll ever get a picture, I've tried. She makes the funniest face when she wants something to eat. She just opens her mouth so wide and stares at you. No noise at all. Sometimes I'll be eating something and holding her and I'll look over and there's this huge, open mouth in my face. Totally cracks me up. I've tried to get a picture and no success and she'll probably stop doing it soon. She also, believe it or not, has a different look for when she wants a drink of something you have...looks more like an open fish mouth, lol.

She also won't say please, she just smiles, haha. Maybe she thinks I'm saying cheese...I do take her picture a lot :)

The boys are great. Riley had soccer tonight. I'm still not sure if he really gets it. It's after supper so he's tired and he's just all over the place. In his own typical Riley world :) I'm not sure he knows what direction he's supposed to be going half the time, but he's loving it! So cute watching them all play. And poor Kieran...got some pictures of him sitting on his ball on the sidelines watching. He loves going more than Riley I think.

Speaking of Kieran, he and Bridget are such great buddies. They really have this sweet connection. Always want to be hugging one another. So cute! And he'll go and get her toys when she's crying, even surrendering some of his favourites. I hope they are all always so close! Riley and Kieran are playing together better these days too, now that Kieran is old enough to 'get' stuff, haha, i.e. follow orders :) Most days, things go smoothly in the house now (note smooth does not mean quiet or neat...just without major breakdowns!).

We had our second reveal at Treasured Scrapbooking on June 15th. Here is my second LO that I made with the kit. I also have a third, but it's still in progress :)

Grampie's Girl...can Ijust say that is a totally accurate title! She turns down many people in favour of Grampie!

Treasured Scrapbooking is having a cyber crop this weekend so pop on over for some fun challenges and games!!

Here's a few cute pics of the kids from our church bbq last weekend. I honestly thought it would be Riley's first time puking from just eating too much (ahhh, what a scrapworthy moment that would have been, heehee). Thankfully, he kept ALL that food down.

Racing towards the lake after her brothers.

My crazy husband out in the lake with my precious little boys! Thank goodness they didn't fall in...I'm much happier with them on land. They get a little wild so the thought of him not being able to see them both at the same time in a canoe worries me!

My boys...happiest in the water!

Heehee! That girl can pack away almost as much food as Riley :) She was chowing down on the peppers.

A rainy Wednesday

I must say, part of me is glad that it's raining today so that I don't have to goop up my kids with sunscreen and lug them outside. Though, I guess it does make for kind of a long day when Bridget gets up at 5:15...yawn.

Let's get a few kid stories out of the way before I move on to the scrappy stuff :)

I'm not sure if I've ever told you about Lem. Lem is Riley's imaginary friend. I have no idea where he got the name from. Lem's been with us for about a year, on and off. I must say, it's a bit freaky when your kid is having conversations with someone that isn't there. I know it's perfectly normal but it's weird. And I don't even watch that many scary movies, haha. Sometimes, I'll hear Riley talking and ask him, "what did you say, I couldn't hear you." "Oh, I was just talking to Lem." He'll even argue with him, like he needs someone else to do that with! One day he just kept saying "nu-uh" in the back of the van and no one else was talking. I asked him who he was talking to...Lem, of course. Heehee. Oh, and Lem recently got a new friend, Rainda (I seriously have no idea about these names...good thing we didn't let him name Bridget!).

The other day I took the kids for a walk and, of course, the boys were running. Well, Riley fell flat out and skinned his knee. He got right back up and kept on running. On the way home, Kieran did the same thing. You'd have thought he needed a wheelchair the way her was acting. He cried until lunchtime and even left the lunchtable mid-lunch to go lie on the couch and put his leg up. He didn't even want to get into bed for a nap because it would hurt his leg *eye roll*. For the next day or so he limped around and held up his shorts so they wouldn't touch it (it even had a band-aid). Let's hope he never needs stitches!!

Today, we were listening to the radio at lunch and Martina McBride came on. Riley said that sometime when the 'radio people' are singing he imagines what they look like. I asked him what he thought Martina looked like. He said, short brown hair....kind of like Velma on Scooby-Doo. Hahaha. Don't tell Martina!

Oh, how about a couple of cute kid pics too :) Cuz, they're just so adorable!

(The boys got a lot of scrapes that day, but they sure did have fun climbing that tree!).

Ok, on the the scrap talk!

I've got a great new site to tell you all about!! Let's Capture our Memories is a great new board that was started by my good friend, Tanya! There's lots of Pawsie girls hangin' out over there now that Janique is closing shop. It so nice that's she's created a new place for us all to hang out! There's lots of fun challenges going on already and lots of great chatter. Be sure to check it out. I'm also hosting a scrapjack challenge there...you have until this evening to sign up. We'll be lifting a LO by the super talented Danielle Flanders!

I did a couple of LOs at a crop on the weekend but they aren't completely done yet. I do have one to show you that will be in the Treasured Scrapooking newsletter this month. I did a sketch challenge. So here is the LO and the sketch:

That's all for now...I think Bridget is waking from her nap. She's developed a cough in the past couple of days. Hope we're not in for another round of sickness! Have a great rainy Wednesday!

Hello June!!

Yay, June! I love June :) It's my birthday month (the big 3-0)! And I'm going to see Bon Jovi (so we'll have to put off the birthday bash)! Aaah, life is good!

Today was the Design Team reveal at Treasured Scrapbooking (my first). I'm so pleased with the layout and sketch that I completed. And the other DT members totally rocked their kits too! I'm really loving being part of the team and am totally inspired by all the talent on the site! Head on over and check out the fun challenges!! Here's my layout and sketch:

I also issued a challenge to complete a layout with no picture. I had wanted to scrap about how every night when I put Bridget to bed I hear Kevin singing to the boys through the wall. Of course, I had no picture so I put some of their favourite songs on to journal spots, stitched some arrows and added a vertical title to represent the wall.

The cyber crop also continues all week over at Scrap That! You have until June 7th to upload your challenges so head on over and check them out! I have completed 2 and hope to do more this week. I finished a layout for the sketch challenge that I issued and Sarah's scavenger hunt challenge. Here is my sketch and corresponding layout:

And, here's my scavenger hunt LO. Each part of this layout was an item that was part of the scavenger hunt, thus the odd mixture of product. I thought the layout was going to turn out horribly, but I actually kind of like it :) Thanks for the fun challenge, Sarah!

Ok, one more layout. I did this for the last sketch challenge over at Paws. Sadly, Janique is saying goodbye to Paws. She is doing this in the best interest of her young and very busy family. I want to thank her for 3 fabulous years...I have enjoyed being part of the Paws community. I 'learned' how to scrap at Paws and I made some fabulous friends! I wish you all the best, Janique...don't be a stranger!

This actually ended up looking nothing like my sketch, haha, so I won't bother adding it.

The kids are doing great. Bridget is still very close to walking but still won't quite let go. Riley is playing soccer again this summer. He's having a lot of fun! Poor Kieran isn't old enough to play yet even though he's just as able, if not more so. Kieran is such a jock :) Riley has fun, but he's still in his own little world most of the time. It's still super cute to watch. I can't think of any funny stories right now...hmm...I'm sure they're are some. I guess they're just being their normal crazy selves everyday :) Still cute as ever!

I guess Riley is into science experiments now. Everyday we watch Sid the Science kid on PBS so now he likes to do science experiments and write in a science journal. Last Friday my niece and nephew were over to play for the day so we did baking soda and vingegar volcanoes. I passed it around so they all got a turn and then I made them little booklets to draw pictures in. They had a blast. Now to come up with more experiments. Any suggestions?

Phew, ok, after playing with this blog for over an hour, it's almost bedtime! What do you think of the new look? :)
