Since we last met...

I've become a runner. Well, at least I run :) I've been going out with a couple of friends and it really helps to stay motivated. Don't want to fall behind. I'm very bad at just going out by myself so I love having buddies to go with. The other night we ran 8.5K...phew!! I couldn't believe it and we were all totally proud and bragging the next day! We even went last night in a cold rain! Me, out in the cold rain. I am always freezing and don't even like to walk to my car in a cold rain, lol! But I did it and it feels awesome after (and even more awesome after a hot shower :)).

I promised some pictures of my latest creations. I realized, there aren't that many. I actually did a sweet album for Mom for Mother's Day but was too lazy to take any pictures. But, take my word for it, it was pretty awesome, haha. Here's some stuff I did take some pictures of...

The clipboard was a gift. I'm actually making 2 more as gifts and think then it will be time to make one for me :) I love them! I have at least one more layout I haven't photographed yet. If I don't need pictures for a challenge or an assignment I guess I'm very lazy about taking them!

And what post is complete without pictures of my beautiful children :) Oh, a quick Bridget funny first (I'm sure there have been so many more, really need to write them down when they happen). We were at my parents' house the other day and Bridget started running towards my dad and mom said, "Here comes trouble!" Well, Bridget stopped suddenly and turned around looking for 'trouble'. "Where trouble?" Haha...it was so funny!

Kieran's at kind of an uncooperative age for pictures :)

My reason for just letting the dandelions grow...how cute is she?

Bridget pretending to sleep in her big bed. She actually is sleeping in it now, but that night she went back in her crib because she wouldn't settle. Only took a few days to get her used to it though. She loves it and loves showing everyone her big bed. She gets so excited :)

The kids in the bouncy castle the morning of Kieran's birthday party. When they saw it all set up it was a little like Christmas morning :)

Hope you all have a great long weekend. I hear the weather is supposed to be great, yay!!

Just a good Canadian tune :)

OK, Jill, you have to recognize this now :) Remember it for next time you need to hum it!

He's 4!!

Kieran's 4th birthday was yesterday. Who knew he was born on Star Wars day....May the fourth be with you...ah, how cheesy :) He now also shares his birthday with his new cousin, Evan! Congrats to Adam and Julia!!

His birthday party was Saturday and I'm such a bad mother that I haven't uploaded any pictures yet. I do however have pictures of his cake (here ya go, Jill...isn't it totally skookum??)

He had a fun time at his party. We rented a bouncy castle and actually had it set up in our playroom for when they woke up Saturday morning. It was like Christmas :) We moved it outside for the party though. We were lucky to have such a gorgeous day. I refused to let anyone in the house, haha!

He had his 'special day' at preschool yesterday. Basically, it means we bring the snack and he gets to wear a crown and be the leader to wash hands before snack. Heehee! All the kids love it though and really look forward to their special day. Oh, I guess they sing Happy Birthday too :) I also took him out for lunch after for a Happy Meal and we picked out some books at the bookstore. The downside to all of this is that both Kieran and Bridget missed naps so the afternoon was not too fun. We had one of Kieran's favourite suppers...pancakes. Second only to hot dogs I think :)

And, ok...this may only be exciting for me, today he zipped the zipper on his coat. He's been trying for awhile but just got it today. I told him it was because he was a big boy now :)

Oh, and a little Kieran funny :) We were at Kevin's sister's place on Sunday for her birthday. I thought Kieran knew why we were going. Anyway, we were having the kids guess the adults ages (always a fun game, lol) and someone said something about a birthday and Kieran says, "Grown ups have birthdays too???" He sounded genuinely surprised...to cute :)

Since I don't have any pictures of the party yet, I'll share some cute ones of Kieran and Bridget. They actually called me into the playroom to take their picture. They're both sitting in a little green rocker together and knew Mommy would want pictures :)

Don't ask me why Kieran is wearing gloves. I can't remember, but he's probably also wearing shorts :)

More exciting news...ok, again, probably only for me...I went for a run last night. Well, more of a walk, run, walk, run, repeat, but it's a start :) It was nice to get some form of exercise other than vacuuming and chasing my kids around. Thanks to Liz for letting me tag along :)

I've been scrapping on and off. I was actually kicked off the island on scrap-ivor, lol. With all of the birthday preparations I didn't get my layout done in time. Still cheering on my team though!

Here are some things I've created recently but don't think I've shared on the ol' blog :)

Hmm...only 2 cards. Think some project pictures must still be on my camera too :) I'll have to get some pictures up soon!

Happy Wednesday! Half-way through the week, yay!!

Another Monday night post

Here I am, blogging during House again. Forgive me if I make a few typos along the way since I'm only half paying attention.

Funny/sweet things my kids do:

Bridget: "I so naked!" (told to Mommy while getting undressed for bedtime)
Mommy: Laughs
Bridget: "I so funny!"

Kieran: sneezes
Mommy: "Bless you."
Kieran: Laughs. "I coughed and blessed you'ed at the same time!"

Kieran had a Superman punching toy that he got at the dollar store last week. In case you didn't know, he's a big Superman fan! Well, today when the cousins were over, it got broken with all the rough play. He was heartbroken. Riley said, "Don't worry, Kieran, I'll buy you another one with my money." Well, what a way to melt a Mommy's heart! He was even trying to figure out how we could get it home and get Kevin to set it all up so it would be a surprise for him. It was too sweet! Turns out, Kevin might be able to patch Superman, but I'm tempted to just let Riley go through with it anyway. He was so proud and caring for his little brother. Let's hope they're as good tomorrow!

Bridget took forever to get to sleep tonight. She just kept saying, "I so upset!" and trying to tell me she was bleeding. Meanwhile, I was trying to tell her she was irrational! After much crying I finally rocked her to sleep. Then I didn't want to leave because it's so nice to hold a sleeping child :)

And here's my most recent Scrap-ivor layout. We had to scraplift the style of one of our competitors and my team chose to imitate Natalie. Her style is so fun to copy!

The Empire Strikes Back...

Today Riley informed me that a friend of his is training him to be a Jedi. Who knew they did that kind of thing in kindergarten?! He told me that we have to go and buy bagels because that's what Jedi's eat. Again...who knew?!

Kieran informed me today that Grampie is silly because he has no hair. Guess Daddy is well on his way to being silly, hahaha! I can't really picture Kevin being silly...maybe it only works for Grampies.

Another recent exciting event in our house is Riley learning to ride a two-wheeler!! It is so cool and we are so proud of him. We got him a bike a few weeks ago and it didn't come with training wheels so we decided to go ahead and teach him without them and he's doing so well. He still needs a little work on starting and stopping (he's going to need a new pair of sneakers soon!).

My other biker babes :)

Scrap-ivor continues on LCOM and I'm still on the island :) Here are my first two layouts...

Ok, off to watch House now. Happy that it's actually new for a change! May the Force be with you!

Bring It

LCOM's Scrap-ivor is underway!! Woohoo! Our team is the Paperpushers and we're ready to crush our competition (or cover them in glue and paper, haha!!).

I'm doing a retro layout as part of my team's challenge this week. It's well underway, but I can't show it yet...don't want to give the other team a head's up (because I'm sure they're all undercover stalking my blog, haha!).

Should be a fun competition. You know, if I don't get kicked out the first week...

So, I've decided to just never let Bridget look out her window at bedtime. The other night she saw the moon. All good. Looked at it a couple of times. Fun, educational. Well, that was followed by 3 nights of rain. No moon. The first night there was a lot of confusion and crying and looking for the moon. We finally calmed her down. Bedtime took a bit longer, but she finally went to sleep. Then tonight she saw a cat. Umm..we have cats, she can see them anytime. But no, she wanted to see that one cat again. "Where cat go?" Sigh. "He went home, to bed." " See him?" Repeat...followed by much crying. Then she wanted me to sing the 'girl' song? I had no idea what she was talking about. More crying. Thankfully Kevin saved me and knew that she wanted him to sing 'Don't take the girl'. Of course, how could I have not known? Bedtime is starting to wear me out...

Star Wars (Winchester Style)

The boys love playing Star Wars. Do they know what it is? No, not really. Everything that Riley knows about Star Wars he learned from a preschool friend who was practically a full fledged Jedi, haha! So, they play with what little they know. Last week they were playing and Kieran was being Toyota (i.e. Yoda). Kevin explained to him that Toyota was a car and that he really wanted to be Yoda. Instead Kieran was still Toyota, "the man one, not the car one." Riley made up his own character called, "the Boss of All!" The he said, "well, that's not really my name, that's just what people call me." Heehee, they crack me up!!

Yesterday I was going through a lot of my old stuff at my parents' place and we unearthed all kinds of Star Wars toys for the boys to play with (if you don't know me, I'm kind of a fan :) at least of the old school Star Wars). The boys had a blast! Now they have Star Wars, Micro Machines and Lego to play with at Grammie and Grampie's. I swear they ask everyday if they can go there!

I was digging through all my stuff because I'm doing a 'retro' challenge for LCOM's 'scrap-ivor' (a 10 week long survivor-like challenge...yes, we are SO cool. I'm sure Kevin is rolling his eyes reading this, but it really is fun!!). I was looking for old pictures and such. I found my sticker book and believe it or not, the scratch n' sniff stickers still smell! And I had ones with google eyes and sparkly ones. I don't think they make stickers like they used to :) Ah, the 80s! So, look forward to a funky, cool retro layout soon!

Hmm...do I have any new pictures...let's see. Oh, I took some cute ones at the playground last week...here's a few of the good ones!

Must run and get to work on that layout :) Don't want to be voted out the first week, heehee!
